Toll revenue increases by half a billion crowns: Kapsch TrafficCom toll system brings 17 percent revenue growth for the Czech Republic.
The toll revenues in the Czech Republic are increasing continuously. In the first six months of this year, the toll system of Kapsch TrafficCom AG collected 3.1 billion Czech crowns (CZK) (roughly 137 million euros) in toll fees. This represents an increase in toll revenue of roughly 17 percent achieved by the Czech Republic’s perfectly functioning toll system built by Kapsch TrafficCom. [ ... more ]

ÖBB launches digital wireless train communications:
Kapsch CarrierCom implements first GSM-R route in Austria
The age of digital wireless train communications begins in Austria in summer 2008. At this time, ÖBB will install the first wireless train communications system based on the GSM-R European standard on the 80km pilot route between Wels and Passau. Kapsch CarrierCom AG completed the first part of the approximately Euro 40 Million and 3500km order on time. The rollout will continue along the main railway corridors and major routes during the next phases. Austria is the third country in Central Europe after Slovakia and the Czech Republic which is implementing the modern mobile communications system for the railway and which relies on Kapsch’s expertise and know-how. General meeting of Kapsch TrafficCom AG decides on dividend of EUR 0.90
The first public general meeting of Kapsch TrafficCom AG was held today and decided to pay a dividend of EUR 0.90 per share for financial year 2007/08. This corresponds to a disbursement ratio of 35% or around EUR 11 million. The stock will go ex-dividend on 17 July 2008 and the dividend would be paid on 24 July 2008. [ ... more ]

"We were surprised by the Slovakian Monopolies Commission's ruling to dismiss our objection against the decision made within the toll system tender. The fact remains that the alleged technical "deficiencies" within the tender proposal asserted by the contracting party are untenable, both from a technical as well as from an objective point of view", explains Erwin Toplak, Member of the Board of Directors at Kapsch TrafficCom. "We have not yet received a statement on the Monopolies Commission's reasons, which is why we are currently unable to offer a detailed response to the dismissal of our objection. Czech toll system generates revenue of CZK 7.1 billion in 15 months: Kapsch system helps reign in growth of transit traffic in the Czech Republic.
Current earnings from the levying of electronic tolls in the Czech Republic amounted to CZK 7.1 billion (around EUR 284 million) after 15 months of operation (since the beginning of 2007). This result was recently announced by the Czech Ministry of Transport. These earnings were mainly achieved on the basis of the perfectly functioning toll system installed and operated by Kapsch TrafficCom AG. The first Kapsch Toll System in India finalized: Toll System for one df the most frequented highways is up and running
Since End of January 2008 runs the operation of the first road toll project of Kapsch TrafficCom AG in India with no problems. Within a joint venture structure - the Kapsch Metro Joint Venture - Kapsch TrafficCom alongside the Indian Metro Road Systems Ltd. fitted one section of the National Highway No. 8 with a modern manual/electronic toll system. This highway covers the route from Delhi to Gurgaon and is one of the most frequented roads in the region.
